Curator Matthew Kangas will lead visitors through the highlights of the exhibition, commenting on the various themes and areas of Nancy Mee’s art: her examination of teenage spinal disorders; her shift to the idealization of the female form dating from Classical Greece and Rome; her interest in experimental printmaking which she studied in Paris at Atelier Hayter; and finally her encounter with ancient Chinese devotional objects which she enlarged and transformed into abstract glass sculptures.
