Bring your favorite journal and writing implement or use one of MoNA’s!
Inspired by At the Seam: The Museum of Northwest Art’s Permanent Collection exhibition, we will write our own stories through the lens of this diverse, moving, and ongoing show. In this workshop, participants will have the chance to respond to writing prompts designed to engage with the works of remarkable Pacific Northwest artists and promote self-reflection and creative storytelling. No writing experience needed.
About Jessica Gigot:
Jessica Gigot, PhD, MFA, is a poet, farmer, and writing/literacy coach. She lives on a little sheep farm in the Skagit Valley. Her second book of poems, Feeding Hour (Wandering Aengus Press, 2020) was a finalist for the 2021 Washington State Book Award. Jessica’s writing and reviews appear in several publications, such as the New York Times, Seattle Times, Orion, Ecotone, Terrain.org, and Poetry Northwest. Her award-winning memoir, A Little Bit of Land, was published by Oregon State University Press in September 2022.

MoNA’s Class Cancellation Policy
If MoNA cancels the class, the student has two options:
100% Non-transferable refund
Generously choose to donate the full amount to support MoNA's Education Programs. The student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.
If the student decides to cancel the class, they have the following options based on timing of cancellation:
Cancels seven days or more before class:
The student has the option of 100% non-transferable refund or can generously choose to donate the full amount to support MoNA's Education Programs. The student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.
Cancels less than seven days before the class or a no show:
The student is not eligible for a refund. These funds will be considered a generous donation to support MoNA's Education Programs and the student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.

The facility is wheelchair accessible and an elevator is available in the back of the building
A wheelchair is available for visitors
Limited seating is provided throughout the galleries and studio space
Restrooms are available on both floors of the museum. Changing tables are available in the restrooms on the 2nd floor and an all-gender restroom is available on the 1st floor of the museum
