April 1, 1pm
Please join us for an artist talk with Sara Siestreem. This Spring, Sara shows her multi-disciplinary exhibition, CLOCKWORK WHITE: light and signs in the main gallery of the museum.
Encompassing contemporary video and photography, ancestral Indigenous weaving culture, and the metaphor of the Salmon's journey that reflects the artist's tribal roots, CLOCKWORK WHITE: light and signs blends the traditions of the past with the transitory aspects of the present.
Sara Siestreem is an enrolled member of the Coos Tribe of the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Suislaw Indians. She received her BS from Portland State University (2005) and her MFA from Pratt Art Institute in Brooklyn, NY (2007).
Immediately following Sara's artist talk, help us open the Spring exhibitions with a reception from 2 to 5pm.
